What is Everyday Women?
Have you ever looked in the mirror and wondered what happened? Have you gained weight? Does your hairstyle look drab and out of date? Are there dark spots on your face and do your eyes seem to have disappeared into wreaths of wrinkles? Do your hot flashes and mood swings make your family cringe?
Me too! My name is Suz and I'm just an everyday woman who is trying to figure out when exactly I turned old. I'm am 43 and on a good day that's the age I feel, on a bad day I feel like a decrepit old woman. My goal with this site is to find answers and solutions to all the things that aging women face. I'm not a doctor or an expert- what I am is a woman who wants to know for myself and to share what I learn with other women.
Those days when you look in the mirror and wonder when your middle-aged self managed to eat your mid-20's self are the days when you find yourself searching for answers! Better makeup, great diets, fitness programs and of course some way to feel better about the changes your body is going through.
I have been fighting all sorts of aging issues for a few years, in my opinion there is no reason for me to dread turning 44 next year- but I do need to get in shape, improve my health and my appearance and work to find a "happy place" in my life where I don't avoid the mirror or going in public because I'm embarrassed about how I look.
It doesn't matter what age you are, there's likely some sort of female issue that you're facing. As we age our shapes change, and even make it difficult for us to wear makeup appropriately. This is stuff they don't teach you when you're a teenager learning to accentuate and emphasize certain features- these days we're more likely to be minimizing and camouflaging certain things.
That is what Everyday Women is all about...all the things that matter to you and to all sorts of women. Health, beauty, fitness, fashion and happiness for all of us, there's nothing that's too taboo to discuss with Everyday Women- if there's a topic you'd like to see feel free to comment on any blog post!

My name is Donna, and while I am just an everyday woman trying to figure out this aging thing, I also get to figure out how to do the Widow’s Walk through life. I lost my husband to cancer nearly four years ago, after being with him since I was 15 years old. He was always a big fan of my writing ability and I thought “What better way to honor him, than to keep on writing and maybe be able to help someone else who is going down this same path.”
It’s hard enough to survive this day and age without the added stress of suddenly finding yourself half of what you are used to being. Little things you may not even have noticed before turn into giant stress factors when you are the only one left to deal with it. Let’s walk this strange land together and I’ll help you explore the terrain that I already stumbled across.
Remember, one step at a time! Slowly and surely…
